Sunday Photowalk in Austin
All the photos from my Sunday walk around downtown Austin
First up is the set taken on CineStill 400D. This is honestly my favorite, and I’m blown away by the finish. I totally forgot I had Glimmerglass on both the 24mm and 85mm lenses, so there is probably some softening and glow from that, but I think it was a happy accident.
I started with some side-by-side shots using the Fuji X-T50, both for comparison and to make sure I was getting decent exposure settings. I think I ended up going with a Kodachrome 64 recipe I found on FujiXWeekly. I love some of these shots, too, especially with the sun right behind the buildings.
Next was the Harman Phoenix. I don’t really know what to make of these, I struggled to get good colors out of the scans. I am wondering if these are all underexposed, I don’t feel like the example shots on their website looked so drastic and grainy. The Glimmerglass probably didn’t help, but the CineStill still managed to look pretty sharp in all the shots I took.
Finally, I put some Ilford Delta 100 through my Canon P, mostly to try out range shooting and capture candid shots of people. It was a mixed success, I definitely need to pay more attention to shutter speed and keep it fast, but I got a few great ones. I was also blown away by how sharp and detailed some of the shots are, this is a great B&W film for sure!
