Self-hosted
By Austin Lane
I’ve got fiber now, so I’m trying out a bunch of fun ideas from /r/selfhosted to see what is useful.
Right now it’s all running on a Raspberry Pi 5 sitting under my desk. I’ve got Portainer running everything, Pi-Hole and Nginx-Proxy-Manager to handle DNS and directing traffic, TriliumNext for personal notes, PhotoPrism to replace Google Photos (maybe), FreshRSS for news feeds, and random little things like Homarr to play with a custom dashboard. So far it’s holding up just fine, except when I index all my photos in PhotoPrism, which uses about 75% of the CPU. Otherwise it feels pretty quick browsing everything, so we’ll see if I need to replace this with some kind of MiniPC.
